Our Christmas 2011

Well another Christmas has come and gone, I can't believe how fast time flies! This was Jake and I's 3rd Christmas together, and Emery's 1st! It was so awesome. It will be even more fun when she actually understands what is going on..But as expected she got spoiled and loved every minute of it!
We kicked off our Christmas festivities on Christmas Eve like usual with all the usual traditions. One of them being Christmas PJs. My parents went to Florida in October and went to Disneyworld so our PJs were from there, except Emery's. She got a Minnie Mouse dress from there but her jammies were just normal.

Christmas morning we got up nice and early. (We had church at 9:00 and Grandma and Grandpa had to get on the road to visit all of the families!) Emery was still sleeping so we just left her and we opened presents. We got spoiled!

I got Jake GI Joe and Tom and Jerry cartoons that he loves, a few Wii games, the Coldplay CD, and a few other little things. He had to wait until the end for his "big" present!
Jake's favorite present of pretty much his whole life was his Graduation and Christmas present from my Mom and Dad. A beautiful very nice Weatherby 12 gauge shotgun! He was soooo happy. I wish I would have had the video camera out to video his face when he opened that box and saw it!
He wouldn't put it down to open any other presents.
Then came my present to him. A Ruger 10-22. Once again he was completely surprised and very happy.
They are going shooting tomorrow so he very excited to have 2 brand new guns to try out!
Shayli got her first gun, a Mossberg 12 gauge.
About this time Emery woke up and she was so excited to start opening presents! :) So we got right to it.

She got a Bumbo, lots of little toys, and a bunch of books from Mom and Dad. Grandma and Grandpa gave her an outfit, the stuffed animals from Disneyworld (she LOVES them) a big light up walker that she loved instantly as well, some more books, and a few other little toys. Great-Grandma and Grandpa gave she a pretty spring dress! She definitely got spoiled.
She loves sitting in her Bumbo and being able to be a part of everything.

After church she came home and crashed. She was tired from all the present unwrapping!
Another highlight of the day was being able to Skype with my little brother on his mission! It is cool that they let you do that now instead of just talking on the phone. He got to see Emery, it was really fun. One more time and then he is home! May 16th! YAY!
After she ate dinner, she crashed again :)

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas! It was so nice to be able to go to church on Christmas. Helps keeps the reason for celebrating in your mind and get you away from all of your gifts and focus for a little while on what truly matters. For me this is the best gift that I got this year.

Temple Lights

Tonight we headed to Salt Lake to have dinner and go see the lights at Temple Square. We had so much fun. We met up at the Gateway with my Aunt and Uncle and their family and had dinner, did a little shopping, and then took the Trax to go see the lights!
Emery was all bundled up! She loved it.

Waiting for the train for Emery's first Trax ride.

Her favorite thing right now is to look at lights...millions of little lights in all different colors equals one happy baby!

 Chinese Nativity

After looking at all the lights we went and saw the new City Creek Center. It is going to be really neat! Then we went to the Gallivan Center and to 2 News where Emery had her first TV debut :) If you look at the screen in the picture above you can see her just to right of head of the girl on the left...got it? confusing...sorry. The achors loved her. The lady was laughing in the middle of doing the news at her. The people in their offices came out and were all waving at her during the breaks. She is just too darn cute!
We had so much fun! Going to see the lights is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. And Emery seemed to agree.
Merry Christmas!

Thatcher Family Christmas Party

This past Saturday we had our Thatcher (my mom's side) Family Christmas Party. It was so fun like always :) We definitely missed having my grandpa around this year though. Sure miss him. But it was so good to see every one, eat, and see all the new little babies! Emery has 2 cousins that were born just a few months before her, one girl and one boy, it is going to be so much fun for them to grow up together and play!

Emery loves her ball that Grandma gave her :) Her little hands fit around it perfectly she holds onto it and tries to eat it.
Emery with her cousin Ady. They are just 1 1/2 months apart.
We had quite a time trying to get a good picture of both of them. So we'll just have to settle for 3 separate pictures.

Emery with Aunt Shayli and again with the ball.

So glad everyone was able to come! Can't wait to see you again soon!

The many faces of Emery...

The "are you really taking pictures of me again" face

The "So excited to be in the tub again" face
cue a very deep inhale. (she does it when she gets really excited about something)
A definite favorite.
The "Lounged out watching TV" face
 The "I'm pooping" face
Another favorite :) That liquid poop is hard to get out...
 The "Mom is funny" face
The "My life is so hard" face

The "I splashed so hard the water hit me in the face and scared me to death" face
The "I really don't want to go to another Christmas party" face
(I know she is missing a sock...it was quickly found afterwards, love those toes though!)
The "I'm Sleeping" face
One most commonly found when Anna is around :) haha
poor tired pregnant girl. been there.

But most of all we just love and cannot get enough of the cutest little face around!
Love you baby em :)
