Harley at 2 months

Harley at 2 months
12 lbs 11 ounces-75%

Head: 15 3/8"-30%

Oh this boy is the sweetest and getting bigger every minute I swear! He is a CHUNK. I love it so much. He is smiling at us all the time, and has laughed a couple times. He smiles at Emery the most. Every time he hears her voice, or sees her, he smiles. If she is holding him, he just sits there and smiles at her the whole time. He is starting to do it with Macie too. The other day he was in his swing and Macie was bugging him in it like usual, so I went over to make her stop but then I looked at him and he was grinning from ear to ear at her. So I let her keep doing it ;) She is so obsessed with him lately too. She is constantly wanting to hug and kiss him. Even in the cart at the store I can't get her to sit down because she keeps crawling in the back of the cart trying to get to Harley in his car seat to hug him or kiss him. While it is incredibly frustrating at times, it is so sweet. I can't remember if I wrote in his one month post that he is rolling over, but he is. He rolled from his stomach to his back at about 1 week, and from his back to his stomach at 2 weeks. The first time I thought it was a fluke for both rolls but he has done them both multiple times now so I know it wasn't. Especially from his stomach to his back. He never stays on his stomach for any kind of tummy time. I put him there and he instantly rolls over. I told the doctor about his rolling at his 2 month appointment this week and he was shocked! We have to really watch him to see if he starts being able to roll from his back to his stomach while swaddled. Neither of the girls were able to do that until about 6 months, but neither were rolling before they were even a month old! If he starts doing that we have to stop swaddling him. I really hope he waits a while! He is so strong. He holds his head up really well, and if you hold him up on his legs he will push back and try to stand. Also if you prop him up against something, like a pillow on the couch, he will lean and try to sit up on his own. He can't do it, he just falls over, but he tries to! It's incredible how strong he is. It seems so far that he is going to have the personality of Emery. The go go go kind. She was in such a hurry to hit every single milestone so fast. She was always 2-3 months ahead. And that is how he is, the doctor told us he is acting like and hitting 4 month milestones right now. Slow down baby boy!! He is still getting up 2-3 times a night to eat, and sometimes a few in between that just for a binki...So basically I still feel zombie like with my lack of sleep, but he's worth it. He naps well during the day so that is nice. He is eating every 3 hours during the day. He loves loves to be held. I had to buy a wrap and have him in that a lot of the day because I can't just hold him all day with the girls around. But that way I get to 'hold' him, but still have 2 hands for the girls. I really love my wrap. He is in size 2 diapers. He still fits in 0-3 month clothing, but with it getting so cold I have been putting him in some 3-6 month, since that's the size of warm clothes I bought, and they fit pretty well already too. So he's an in-betweener.
We love you baby boy!

Celebrating our 3 year old!

I knew there was no way I was going to pull off a big birthday party for Emery this year. Between Macie's party in July, and having Harley in August, and his blessing last weekend. I just didn't have the time to do it! But she has had big parties the last two years so I didn't feel too bad...She has been so over the top excited for her birthday this year that I was kind of worried about not doing one for her, but we planned a lot of fun things and it turned out great anyway. We decided to start celebrating on Saturday so we could go do some fun stuff and basically treated that like her birthday too.

First off we decided to go to Black Island Farms. This was our 3rd year going and we always have so much fun! They had a few less activities this year, but the girls didn't even notice. They had so much fun bouncing from one thing to another. Uncle Colton, and Aunt Shay, and Grandma came with us. My dad was hunting and Haley had to work so they didn't make it. The girls have so much fun playing with Colton and Shay.

After we were all done sliding and riding trains and playing in the corn we decided to go pick our pumpkins. It's really fun because you go on a tractor ride and they take you out to a big pumpkin patch where you get to pick any pumpkin you want. Macie was very particular about which one she wanted. It was hilarious! Jake would point at one and ask her if that's the one she wanted and she would say no. She pointed at this one so he bent down and said which one. She very adamantly pointed at that one. She got the biggest one of the family! My mom did get a huge one though that was even bigger. Emery of course picked the smallest one she could find. She always wants the "baby" of everything.

After the pumpkin patch we were starving and ready for dinner and went to Tepanyaki for dinner. The girls had so much fun watching the chef. They even loved the food. Emery has been once before and loved it so we knew it would be a good choice for her birthday. They made some special chopsticks for Emery to use and she did a pretty good job with them! Afterwards they sang her Happy Birthday and gave her some ice cream. She was so dang happy!

After this we headed home so that Jake could make it to the priesthood session of conference.  When we got in the car to go home she said, "I had a perfect day!" My heart just melted. So I guess it turned out just perfectly. We really did have so much fun.

The next morning I decorated a little spot for her at the table. She thought it was pretty cool.

Emery loves pumpkin pancakes. So that is what I decided to make her for breakfast. I think that is going to be our traditional Emery's Birthday Breakfast from now on. I put sprinkles on it too just to make it extra special for her. She is currently obsessed with the Happy Birthday song too. So I decided to give her a candle and sing with every meal. She thought it was pretty special.

After breakfast she asked if she could open presents. So we let her. She is really starting to like Fancy Nancy so we got her a Fancy Nancy book. She was pretty excited!

We also got her a LeadPad. I have been SO excited to get this, and then we finally did and we have been dying to give it to her. She absolutely LOVES it. I love that it teaches her things and let's her use her imagination and be creative.

We got her a Minnie Mouse game to go with it. Even though there are a few things to do on it already. Jake's parents got her a few games to go with it too.

She wanted a quesedilla for lunch so that's what she got. With a candle and a song ;)

For weeks I have been asking Emery what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. And every single time she would say chocolate with orange on it. So chocolate with orange on it is what she got ;)

That afternoon we went us to Grandma's house. She made Emery her own special dinner of Homemade Macaroni and Cheese and Grilled Chicken. mmmmm As soon as she finished eating she asked if she could open presents. Aunt Shay gave her a pretty crystal bow necklace. She's wearing it in that picture. She got a I spy bag for church that is really fun. It's going to be nice to have another quiet church activity. And also this book. It's a book that you record your voice reading it. So then on every page there is a button so you push it and it plays back the reading of the page. So my mom read and recorded the whole thing for her. As you can see by her face she LOVES it. All morning today she asked me can grandma read to me? And then she takes it and pushes the buttons and listens to the story. For her naps she takes forever to go to sleep because she just sits there and listens to the story. It's sweet.

After that we sang Happy Birthday and did cake and ice cream.

I took Emery to the store a few days before to let her pick out what kind of ice cream she wanted. She insisted on Play Doh. So that's what she got. You only turn 3 once right?!

I'm so glad you had such a special perfect day baby girl! We love you so much!!
