10 months

Sometimes she gets sick of pictures :) Mostly she just hates being on the grass....haha

And here we are again! I feel like I just did her 9 month post last week and we are already at 10 months! Time is just flying by. In just 2 short months we will have a 1 year old! What?!? Crazy. So here is Emery at 10 months. As adorable as ever. Still has those incredible eyes! We still aren’t sure what color they are going to be. We are thinking hazel…they are kind of a brown/green but they have a blue line around the outside. So who knows. They are gorgeous though. At 10 months Emery:
Loves to eat. Anything and everything. If you have food she wants it, it doesn’t matter if she just finished a big bowl of food and a bottle she will still want anything you have. She is constantly going and going though, so she doesn’t gain the weight to show it!

Busy busy busy. Never stops.

Can crawl up onto the furniture now…she gets on the couches, the ottoman, and our bed…now requiring even a closer eye on her! But she also taught herself to turn around and slide off on her belly. She just did it after crawling up on the couch one day. We were pretty impressed.

Not only shakes her head ‘no’ to you now, but also says no while she shakes her head. It’s so cute. She will also say “don’t” but without the ‘t’ while shaking her head sometimes. You get that mostly is you are tickling her and she doesn’t like it. It hilarious. She will also say ‘ga-gone’ for all gone. She wants to talk so badly and her gibberish has turned into more understandable words recently. She makes us laugh so hard with the things she gabbers.

She has absolutely no interest in walking. She is too busy! She can stand up in the middle of the room without even pushing herself up off the floor and will just stand there, but does not want to take a step. She will stand there and dance, bounce up and down, squat down to pick something up off the floor and stand back up, but doesn’t want to walk. Which I am 100% ok with, she will only get harder to chase and keep up with. She can crawl so fast that walking just seems like a burden to her.

Loves otter pops. So much. You cannot even let her see one or she throws a fit.

Has learned how to throw an all out temper tantrum. Like flopping on the ground screaming and kicking her legs. I know it is bad but it is so funny. I just don’t let her see me laughing. I just ignore her until she is done so I can usually giggle to myself in the other room.

Knows when she is getting into something she shouldn’t be. She will crawl really slow and look at me or Jake as she goes to whatever it is to see if we stop her.  If she is in something that she shouldn’t and you catch her she will try to hurry and get away as fast as she can. Like the other day I was getting ready and it got quiet so I stuck my head out of the bathroom to see what was going on and she had found a big bag of cherries (which she LOVES) and she was stuffing them in her mouth. Luckily they are huge so they wouldn’t even begin to go down and with only 2 teeth (we are still working on 4 on the top…in and out all the time) she can’t get very far with them. When she saw me picking up the cherries though she hurry and grabbed all she could fit in her tiny hands and tried to crawl away on just her knees. She even stuck a few in her mouth to get away with. I was laughing so hard.

She knows which of us is Momma and which is Da-da. The other day I could hear her but didn't know where she went. I peeked outside and she had crawled out onto the front porch and was yelling "Da-da? Da-da?" So cute.

Makes me literally laugh out loud at least a couple times a day. She is so funny and has such a silly sense of humor. She has loads of personality and I love every minute of it.

Has a big huge cheesy smile for anyone and everyone who looks at her. Doesn’t matter where we are or who you are, if you will look at her you get the biggest smile from her. I get told daily “She is the happiest baby I have ever seen” She really is.

We love you so much baby girl! Practically a toddler and I can’t believe it!

A birthday and the Morgan County Fair

This past week was the Morgan County Fair. And boy did it keep us busy! Wednesday night it started off by taking the pigs over. Emery was mesmerized watching Shayli and Ashley wash them. They were squealing like crazy and she couldn't figure out what was going on. That night was also the ATV rodeo, but we skipped out on it. Thursday we spent most times with the pigs, Shayli showed her pig and won Reserve Grand champion Showmanship. She did really good! Especially since she is in the Senior division this year, which means she is one of the youngest showing. Then that night we went to the Demolition Derby. (I was really bad at pictures this weekend :)).

Friday was Jake's birthday! He is 26 now. Getting old :) He went to work for a few hours in the morning and then came back to spend the rest of the day with us.

We of course had to spend lots of time walking through all of the animals. Emery loves animals so much. She was in heaven with all of these rabbits, ducks, chickens, turkeys, pigs, lambs, steers, and more. She loved the fair.

Emery was in the 'Diaper Derby' crawling contest. She did awesome! She won her heat. It was hilarious though, she proved her OCDness to us even more. She took off and was going great (see above) and then she came across a piece of red tape on the mats...she stopped dead in her tracks. She tried to pick it off and couldn't get. I kept trying to get her attention to finish since she only had about 1 foot left to go. But she couldn't leave it. She would start to and take a couple steps and then turn around and crawl back to it and try to get it off. Everyone was laughing so hard. Finally I just took the red tape off the mat for her and she was fine and finished and won!

Then it went to the finals. It was between these three girls. By this time Emery was not interested at all. She was watching the lady next to me. That little girl with the blonde hair just took off and left her in the dust, haha. We were proud that she at least won the first time :)

Emery just kicking back watching everyone else crawl, haha.

After the contest we headed down to Payson for my cousin's wedding. We stopped for a birthday dinner for Jake at Red Robin first of course. It was so good to see everyone. It was funny when we went through the line the parents of the guy my cousin married stopped me and were like I have never seen such a close family. How do you do it? It is really true, and I LOVE it. It was actually my 3rd cousins wedding...but we have never thought of it that way. We have a huge family and everyone is close! 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th cousins starting with Emery's generation. But it doesn't matter to us. It all family and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Saturday was spent at the Livestock Auction, Shayli's pig sold for $1150. $50 more than year which was really good, most people's sold for less than last year! Then that night we ended with the Rodeo. Unfortunately Emery didn't go to the rodeo though. We were grateful we didn't have to chase her the whole time to be honest...we wouldn't have gotten to see much! Emery got to have a sleepover with Grandma that night, while the rest of us went to the rodeo! The poor girl got a cold and was up all. night. long. My poor mom and dad got a taste of parenthood again, haha. I don't think that's what they bargained for with grandkids, but they didn't mind at all. The cold came out of no where, she was perfectly fine all day on Saturday. She is on the mend though :)

Sunday we got to celebrate Jake's birthday a little more! I made him a cake, Banana cake with Blueberry Filling and Cream Cheese frosting. It was delish.

This girl is so silly.

This picture makes me laugh so hard. She gave Jake this look after he blew out the candles. She wasn't happy at all. haha

Happy Birthday Jake! We love you lots and lots!

July Ramblings...

July was majorly busy for us...I don't even know where June or July went! But here we are jumping head first into August. But I am hoping it goes a little bit slower...especially since this little one turns 10 months on Sunday (what!?! more on that next week...) But with the fair this week, weddings, vacations, and softball starting back up next week I'm not counting on it going too slow...
But here are some pictures that fit in no particular category but I still love :)
First up-my little cowgirl. Complete with a cow dress and cowgirl boots. All ready for the rodeo this weekend!

A perfect night of dinner and shopping at City Creek with our bestest friends Chance, Anna, and Kate. Anna and I shopped and shopped for the girls and the boys even got in. You'd be surprised how fashion savvy these guys are when it comes to their little princesses. They were picking out dresses and sweaters galore. It's pretty adorable.

I've decided that Jake volunteers to put Emery down for naps just so that he can take one...haha. Here they are taking they're weekly Sunday pre-church nap. (much needed with 1:00 church...) These unfortunately will have come to an end for now with Jake's new calling. Apparently he must've been a pretty darn good executive secretary when we were engaged because he just got called to be it again in our ward. So Sundays and Tuesdays (and the days in between :)) we'll rarely be seeing Dad, but we are grateful for the opportunity and the blessings that will follow.

And then last weekend when sweet little Kate was blessed. We were honored to be part of her special day and were so happy to be able to spend the day with Chance and Anna, just hanging out like old times.
Man I wish we still lived 5 minutes away from each other, can't wait until we are closer again!
Miss you guys. Can't wait until next time!

This and other posts mostly sums up our July. One more post on the 24th of July and I'm all caught up. Until this weekend....ahhh...it never slows down. But I'm sure I wouldn't have it any other way :)
