Harley's Blessing

Sunday was Harley's big special day when his dad gave him a name and a blessing. It was a beautiful blessing, as always, and such a special day spent with the people we love the absolute most. In the circle to bless Harley we had Harley's Grandpa Kilmer, Great-Grandpa Kilmer, Uncle Colton, Great Uncles Chris, Todd, and Mike, Cousin Justin, and practically Uncle Chance. We really wish Harley's Uncle Matt and Uncle Josh could've have been too! We are so grateful to every one who took the time to come to his special day. It really means so much to us. I have truly been blessing with the absolute best family you could ask you. It is really incredible!

Here are some pictures of Harley's Blessing outfit. I wanted a tuxedo type outfit with a boy tie. I love the one we found!

Daddy getting him all dressed up.

This is one handsome dude. Seriously this guy has stolen my heart.

Before church we tried to get some pictures of the three of them together. haha getting all three looking at the camera is an impossible task, but the ones we did get are so cute. They adore their baby brother, the hugs and kisses and begging to hold him never ends.

My whole world. Seriously can't believe we are a family of five. But couldn't imagine it any other way!! Love these little people, but especially the big one. He is one really amazing guy. I am amazed every day that he is mine, forever!

Emery and Macie LOVE their uncles. Technically great uncles. Macie just kept going in her room and getting books and bringing them to Uncle Todd to read.

Eventually the other girls joined in too ;)

Seriously love these two that came. Anna is such an amazing example of woman and motherhood to me, I am so grateful that Chance and Jake became friends all those years ago so that Anna and I could meet and be friends now. We are incredibly grateful for them.

At some point during the day my camera was stolen by some teenage girls who did their own little photoshoots ;) haha

Colton was pretty proud of his dessert that he made since Haley had to work!

Harley with all the Kilmer Men (except 2 of my cousins that couldn't make it) and plus the adopted one ;) (Jake) This picture actually makes me a little bit teary to see the amazing examples of fatherhood and priesthood Harley has in his life. He is so dang lucky.

Harley with my uncles, grandpa, and dad. (As soon as the blessing was finished my dad got a phone call about a broken pipe at his campground. So he had to go change and fix it, hence the no church clothes on anymore ;))
Again these are the greatest examples I could ask for for Harley to have.

Harley with Great Grandma and Grandpa Kilmer.

Again, thank you so much to everyone who came. We can't say enough how much it means to us and how much we love you! We had a great day just sitting around visiting with everyone all day. We are so lucky to have such great family. We wish some of Jake's family would've been there too. But we are grateful for the wonderful examples Harley has! We love you!

Harley's Nursery

It's finally finished! It's been about 95% done for a few months now, but there were just a couple small things (pictures into frames....) that I have needed to get done for a while. But it is now officially all done. I had so much fun with this project! I have fallen in love with nautical themes and I knew I wanted to incorporate that into his nursery. And I love how it turned out.

So welcome to Harley's Nursery....

I made these curtains. I am SO mad that they don't come all the way to the floor but it's my fault for hurrying too fast! I measured and knew I needed 111" curtains but needed 10" for hems. So I needed to cut at 121". Well in my rush, and kids running every where I cut them at 111" instead...so they are too short. But I'm over it now. I love the pop of red in the room. After I hung them though I needed a way to pull them back. So I came up with these Monkey Knot pull backs. I showed Jake what I wanted, bought the rope and he went to work and made them for me! I love how they turned out.

I love this wall. I really wanted a striped wall and Jake did awesome on this! I also wanted 2 oars above the crib. I looked and looked and could NOT find what I wanted, with a price tag that I wanted...SO again my amazingly talented husband went to work! He made me these two oars and I seriously love them. He is so awesome. I should just saw right now, this room would not have happened without him!
The bedding was my first project of the nursery. I looked online and couldn't find any bedding that I loved. And most stores aren't selling bumper pads anymore but I am a huge believer in bumper pads. So I decided to make my own. A sweet lady in my parents ward, that I grew up in, is an amazing seamstress and she offered to help me out. I cannot thank her enough! She let me sew everything, but helped me learn how to measure, cut, everything. She is awesome. And I love how it turned out.

More Jake projects! The sign on the left Jake put all the wood together for me and I painted and used my Silhouette to cut out the vinyl. We needed some where to store our every growing library and he made some easy access shelves for me. I love these shelves! He cut out the h for me, and made the coat rack. I made the Alphabet and Number printables above.

I love the things on this shelf because they all have a little bit of meaning. The sand dollar on the left my mom and dad brought back for us from their trip to San Francisco this past summer. The lighthouse is one that I bought at Sea World when I was in College. Jake made this Monkey Knot as well. The Sand and Shells in the jar are from our honeymoon in Florida!

Jake made the frame on the bottom left that I filled with a little pennant banner. And I also made the anchor sign. White frames are from Ikea, black and mirror frame are both from Wal-Mart. I had plans to make that exact mirror, but while I was at the store buying supplies to make it, I found one that was cheaper than making it! So I bought it. I also made the changing pad cover, it's a super soft chevron minky. I also made the basket covers with leftover fabric from the crib skirt.

I am so happy with how this room turned out. It is probably my favorite room in the house now!
Thanks Jake for all of your help!

Weekend Shenanigans

We had a pretty low key weekend. This was my first weekend back at "work". I was on call all weekend. Friday evening we went to the Homecoming Parade. These girls love parades. They are really getting the hang of the waving and candy gathering. We always leave with SO MUCH candy!! They forget about it the minute the parade is over though, which is nice. Jake ends up taking it to work and putting in his candy jar. Which I am glad for...if it sits around here all day I'll eat it! After the parade we went on a walk and had dinner at a local burger place. Maybe walking to the restaurant counter acted my fries and shake?? Yes?? dang it.

Saturday morning I had 2 visits for work. I got home about 10:30 that morning. Some of our good friends invited us to go on a Ranger ride. I was so excited. The kids had a blast. The leaves are all starting to change and it is getting so pretty up in the mountains around here. I absolutely love living in the Rockies with all of these mountains to take advantage of. Utah is so gorgeous.

This weekend was also the Ogden Temple Rededication. Unfortunately I couldn't go though ;( I was so bummed! I didn't dare go while I was on call though. Where the temple becomes an extension of the temple, I didn't feel like it was right to have my phone on and to leave to answer it if it rang. They lock the doors as soon as it starts so if my phone were to ring I wouldn't be able to get back in. Also with the kids we would have had to split up and only one of us go at the time so someone could watch the kids. So we just decided that we wouldn't be able to go. I did end up getting one call on Sunday that I had to go to that came right as the first session started and I got home right as the second session started. So it ended up being a good idea that we didn't. But I have been to 2 dedications already so I know what a wonderful experience they are. We are so blessed to live so close to the temple. Even though while the Ogden temple was closed we still had 4 temples within an hour drive...and about 8 within 2 hours. It still was so hard to get to go sometimes! Truthfully it wasn't the distance...but the distance combined with the kids! But we are so excited to have one within a short 30 minute drive that will make it a lot easier to leave the kids with a babysitter for a temple date. It is such a gorgeous temple I am really excited to be able to go back in. Emery asks me almost every day to go to the temple. She loved it there. I look forward to the day she can start going to do baptisms and be able to go back to the temple!
Happy Weekend Everyone!
