Wrapping up the deer hunt.

Last weekend was the closing weekend of the deer hunt. So of course Jake wanted to go back down to Manti and try to get something. But first off we headed to Provo Friday night for the BYU game.

Our friends Chance came with us, his wife was working so she couldn't come. So it was just him and Kate! Emery had so much fun. She got the "1st down" cheer down, and the march. She had a blast. We played Boise State and beat em! It was a really good game.

After the game we headed to Manti for the weekend. We got in pretty late and headed straight to bed. Bright and early though Jake got up and left hunting and both the girls got up. We started that day off real early. It was so much fun to just hang out at the house with Grandma and Grandpa. Emery absolutely loves them and just bounces back and forth between them. My Uncle Todd and Cousins Tyler, Brianne, and Kylie also come down. Kylie stayed at the house with us while the others were hunting. Emery loves to play with her too. She calls her "Ky-ee". If you know Emery you know she is BUSY BUSY BUSY and Kylie saved me about a million miles. It was awesome.

Around lunch time we got a real hankering for chocolate. My grandma really wanted these Homemade Oreos that I make so I made some of those, but some other people wanted Brownies so we made some of those too. We tried a little experiment and dropped a few treats in with them. Turned out pretty good.

Later that evening once the sun went down we headed outside to play in the leaves and take a few fall pictures of the girls. Macie lasted for like 2 pictures...but Emery had fun just roaming the yard, I followed her with a camera. I'm pretty sure she gets sick of the camera, actually I know she does, she tells me, but oh well. She'll grow out of it ;) Give her a year or two and she'll be posing all over the place!

Unfortunately Jake didn't get anything...But my Uncle Todd did! He got a nice 3 point. There were 8 tags in our family and only 2 got filled. Not too great, but oh well. Next year!!

Halloween Crafts

Emery has gotten to an age where she absolutely loves to draw, color, paint, anything arts and crafts. And I love it! With the holidays upon us, there are more than enough crafts to keep her busy. We did 3 this month for Halloween. I wanted to do a couple more, but we were so busy this month. I honestly don't know what it was, but literally everyday we were gone until nap time, ran home to take naps (sometimes...2 days this month we didn't even stop to let Emery take a nap!), and then dash back out for something else. It was a whirlwind month. But it was a good one. I love October! First craft was a toilet paper rolls Frankenstein, Pumpkin, and Ghost. She loved it.

Macie is always such a good sport during these. She either naps or just plays in the exersaucer. Happiest baby on the block.

Emery does more painting of herself than she does other things...

Ta-Da (Emery's new word every time she does anything)
They have been hanging from our light all season. I'll pack them up after tomorrow to keep for next year!

Another craft that we did were these boards. I actually got this idea from a friend who did it with her girls, and I love it. So I put Emery to work painting.

Finished product. These are Emery's favorite because I let her paint her hands and feet...she is always trying to do it and I don't let her!

Another craft that we did earlier in the year was paint pumpkins. But I cannot find the pictures that I took! I have no idea what happened to them. So I just went out on the front porch and took a picture of the finished product. Funny story about these. I painted the two on the right, when I took all of them out on the front porch after they had dried Emery kept clapping and saying "Good Job Mommy!!". haha. I love it.
That's all for this holiday's crafting!

Emery's Halloween Party

Yesterday I hosted a little Halloween party for Emery and her friends. As I tend to go a little overboard with parties most of the time, I really tried my hardest to keep this as low key as possible. I did a pretty good job at it. Although it took a little bit of motivation from Jake ;) haha. The one and only food I made for lunch was these Mummy Hot Dogs. I had about a million other foods I wanted to make, but I had to keep in mind that 2 and 3 year old's don't eat much! Larissa also brought some super yummy pineapple! That I wish I would have taken a picture of, because the way she cut it was super awesome. I also made some sugar cookies for them to decorate, so between the two, they were happy campers!
I am still kicking myself thought that I didn't get a big group picture :( I'm so sad about that. But oh well.

Moms helping frost cookies. That cute girl on the left is my new next door neighbor. And I am loving having her here!

Macie was a good sport hanging out with her big sister and her friends. There were also 2 other babies her age there, and 2 other babies on the way!

Emery did more frosting eating that actual cookie frosting.

After lunch, and frosting cookies, we colored some Halloween pictures. Then the kids just ran around and played while we visited. It was such a fun afternoon with some of my favorite people! What I should have gotten is a picture of us moms! Me, Emily, Kaley, and Kacey were all friends in high school. Between the 4 of us we now have 9 kids with one on the way! I can't believe how time flies! Thanks for coming over every one! We love you all.
