Black Island Farms

Last fall we took Emery to the Black Island Farms and she really liked it. But I knew this year with her being a year older she would love it. We were so excited to go! So we headed there on Saturday. We got the combo pass so that we could do it all. And oh boy did we.

First stop was, of course, the animals. We started off with cows and she was so excited to see the "moos".

We made a little side stop at the hay fort to do a little bit of climbing.

Then back to more animals. She really liked feeding the goats. She was so happy. We couldn't get her to stop.

Then she spotted the swings and she couldn't wait to get over to those. There was a little bit of a line and she was so patient. I was so proud of her, but she was super antsy. Every time some one would get off and the next person in line would start to go, she would look at me and say "Emmy's turn? Emmy's turn?" But she waited so patiently, and once it was her turn, she was so happy!

While we were on the swings they were getting ready for the pig races! Emery loves pigs. Papa having pigs all spring and summer made her love them. She really liked the pig races.

Then we hit the slides.

This series of photos below just makes me so happy. I love watching how happy she is to just hold Daddy's hand and go to the slides. This just shoes her personality perfectly. Love it.

Macie was such a good sport. Just trucking along with us. She was so happy all day. She is such a good baby I can't even believe we are so lucky.

Excuse the sun in the eyes and crazy hair on me ;) We took a little tractor ride. Emery was in heaven.

This little corn pit was Emery's favorite last year, and it didn't disappoint this year.

We got to Black Island at about 1:00 in the afternoon after finished some errands that we needed to get done. So by this time it was about 3 hours past her naptime...and she still hadn't had one. She was sooo tired. You can just see the tiredness in her eyes. You would have never known though (despite the lack of smiles in some pictures) She was running around having so much fun. But about this time she just went and sat down on a hay bale and didn't want to move. She was so tired. We decided it was time to wrap it up and head home. So we decided to go on the hay ride to the pumpkin patch, get our pumpkins, and head home.

We had to wait in line for a little bit to get on the tractor. While we were waiting I gave Emery some Fruit Loops to keep her entertained. They perked her right up and those big smiles were back ;) Just having so much fun.

Searching for the perfect pumpkin. There were thousands to choose from.

Found it!

We had such a fun day. It was a perfect day to enjoy fall. We stopped for some Cold Stone on the way home. I just love long, wonderful days as a family. Sometimes after day after day of Jake being gone for 12+ hours, by the time Friday comes I'm pretty worn out. So it's so fun to have these awesome days to recharge. Plus Emery just gets to have all the Daddy time she wants and she loves that.
Happy Fall!
