Playdate

Emery has gotten old enough now, that we decided she was big enough to start inviting friends over to play without parents coming too. We play with a lot of friends, but it's always a playdate with moms. (Which personally, I love the company!!) But I have known sweet Lydia's mom for a while, and then they ended up in the same dance class, so we decided to invite her over to play. I have never seen two 3 year old play so well together. They didn't fight once, they didn't whine, they just ran from princess dress up to princess dress up to another princess doll to play house. We colored pictures, made a snowman (while listening to Do You Wanna Build a Snowman, of course) then they danced in the living room to anything off Frozen or Tangled. It was so cute listening from the other room to their little girly giggles from the other room. They have now played twice together at each other's houses and her mom said it was the same story at their house, no arguing, no fighting, they just play and play and play. They are only 2 months apart, so they will be in the same grade in school. I hope they always stay friends!!

November

It always seems like this time of year, every year, that I get so behind on blogging. And I usually don't catch up until the end of January. So I am trying not to wait until then to catch up! This should be my last November post!!

I started my new job the last part of October. And I LOVE it. It is such an amazing place to work. I get to cuddle and hold babies and then turn around and save their lives a couple minutes later. I get to watch moms and dads hold their little ones for the first time after waiting anywhere from hours to days. It really is incredible. This little gift was given to me by a family that I discharged their baby after a NICU stay. It came with a little card taht said, "Thank you for taking care of a piece of my heart when I couldn't" I cried of course, like I do over everything there! It's a wonderful place! It working really well with the kids too. Jake gets home about 3:15 and then I leave about 3:30. I get home about 4:45 and then sleep until Jake leaves to work about 7:30, and the kids wake me up! They love the extra dad time and don't even know I'm gone. It has worked out really well for everyone.

Emery loves to hold Harley, she asks all the time if she can.

Found this on the table the other day, she got into my cookie cutters....

These kids just melt me. Cutest things ever.

This girl is at such an awesome age. I love everything about it. She is such a good kid, and SO much fun. I wouldn't change a single thing about her right now!

The weekend before Thanksgiving we went to the Mandarin in Bountiful to celebrate Anna's birthday!

This day was hilarious. The kids were napping, and I laid down to feed Harley and ended up falling asleep. Apparently Emery woke up during that time sometime and was enjoying life! She turned on Netflix and started watching Winnie the Pooh Christmas. Then she got a bar stool and pushed it over to the cupboard where I have a few parades worth of candy stashed in a jar that we never eat...While I slept she enjoyed 8 suckers, 1 gumball, 2 smarties, 1 hi-shew, and a butterscotch disc. When I walked out of my room in shock she says, "I really like candy"
Yes baby girl, you do.
About 5 minutes later she comes up to me and says, "I should've eaten my carrots"
Haha! Yes, yes you should have, but then we wouldn't be taking pictures and laughing.

This guy is my cuddle baby and I cannot get enough. He is a bit time momma's boy, it's the absolute greatest. After two girls who are obsessed with dad I am loving it. He will sit like this for hours in your arms, and eventually just fall asleep. It really is amazing.

Just some pictures we took after a bath one day.

For some reason I was terrible at taking pictures this Thanksgiving. This is the only one that I got...oh well.  We went to Manti like we always do. I just love going there. Sonora, my cousin on my mom's side, came too. Her family lives in Arizona, but her and her husband live in Springville so we invited them to come with us! I was so glad she did. We love her. Emery had so much fun playing with her. We got down there Wednesday after Jake got home from work and played games until late late in the night. Got up on Thursday and went shooting, came home and had a delicious meal and then took naps! It was a perfect day. I am glad that we were able to go down.

That's all for November! Now to catch up on December before Christmas gets here and I am really behind!

Christmas Tree 2014

The day after Thanksgiving we started putting up our Christmas Tree! We were so exhausted from shopping all day long that we only got it set up, not decorated at all. But the girls loved watching Jake set it up. We watched Elf while Jake fluffed the tree. Have I mentioned how much I love pre-lit trees?? Seriously so convenient when you have little kids!! I'm seriously lacking in the Christmas Spirit this year, I'm ready to take the dang thing down, it takes up so much room in our living room and I am CONSTANTLY picking up ornaments all over the house from kids taking them off and running around with them. I feel like such a grinch. But it's like 50+ degrees outside, no snow, it's hard to get in the mood! I am super duper excited for this Christmas with Emery though. She finally "gets" it. It's so fun. For FHE last week we talked about gifts and all did a gift for Jesus this year and put it on the tree. I didn't think she really got it but a few days later when I asked her about the Wisemen gifts we talked about she told me that they brought Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. I was so proud. Then just today when my sister came over and asked what was in our tree Emery told her, "Those are Jesus's presents". I am loving that she gets it!

Sunday morning before church the girls got out the ornaments and decorated.

Our family ornament from last year, and our ornament that we got at Sea World this year.

And of course Jake, as per tradition, put on the star.

That night my mom set up her tree and the girls helped with that one too. Macie was pretty proud of herself.

And Harley was just cute as usual. Seriously that boy has my heart.

Now I am just hoping for some kind of snow and SOON! The ONLY time I like snow is the month of December and so far no such luck. Please come soon snow!!

Making Turkeys

Oh man I am so behind on blogging again! I have an entire month to catch up on. We'll get there. First off I wanted to start with this fun craft we did with our friend Boston. We made little Turkey's. They turned out super cute!

Macie's somehow lost an eye...so we had to make another one.

They turned out so cute! We got to display their little turkeys on our counter until Thanksgiving. Emery was so proud of hers and wanted to carry it around with her all day.

First Snow

On Thursday we got our first snow of the year! A little later this year than most years it seemed, but it came. I don't miss the snow when it's gone, and I'm in no rush to get it here either. Thursday made for an interesting day on the roads. They were TERRIBLE. I got in a teeny tiny can't even call it an accident that caused some major car damage. I don't even know how it is possible....I was trying to turn (in Jake's car) and it was so icy I just slid right into the curb. But apparently it somehow messed up the alternator and won't even run now. So Jake has been working on replacing the alternator in our car today. But hopefully that is the extent of our winter car woes this year.
The girls really wanted to play in the snow this morning. Emery still needs snow boots and gloves, but I just threw her tennis shoes on her and she was fine for now. This was Macie's first time playing in the snow and she loved it. She was a little snowman in her snow suit and could barely walk, but man is it cute. Jake has a thing with the kids having fancy outdoorsy clothing. So every winter we make a trip to get nice Columbia winter gear. It is so cute that I don't complain. We will definitely be spending many hours outside in the snow!
