Halloween was very low key for us this year. Let's be honest Halloween is low key for us every year...we don't really get into it a whole lot. I think it is a fun holiday for kids though so I imagine in the coming years we'll do a little more. But this year, when Emery has no idea what is going on other than EVERYONE gives her candy wherever we go, it is kinda nice to have low key one more year.
We started off the morning with the Story Hour Trick or Treat at the Library. We went to the library for the story but Emery was running around every where and we decided instead of disrupting the story, we'd just go wait for the Trick or Treating. The Library is right next to the County and City offices, where my mom works, so we just went and waited at her office. Those are the offices that they do the Trick or Treating at. Once the other, better behaved....(teasing, Emery is well behaved, just energetic!) came we did some Trick or Treating. Sadly I left my SD card to my camera at home and so no pictures. We only did 3 offices before bailing though. Emery was getting a little too familiar with the candy and screamed at the top of her lungs every time we made her put the candy in her bag instead of eat it.
The dirty looks from other parents (whose children I'm sure have never behaved so badly..yeah right...) made it clear it was time to go.
So we went to lunch! We headed to Steph's for a delicious lunch and then walked to my Dad's office so every one there could see cute little Tink.
Then it was time for naps so we headed home.
After some naps we played outside for a bit. I don't know what this girl is going to do when Winter and months of never ending snow hits. She clearly didn't like it last week when there was snow and there is nothing that this kid loves more than being outside!
After a trip to Ogden we came home and it was time for the business Trick or Treat. Once again we only hit up one business, Steph's, for the free ice cream cone.
As you can see it was a big hit.
As you can see it was a big hit.
By this time Emery was exhausted! We headed up to my parents for pizza and movies and she fell asleep before we even got out of the driveway. By the time she woke up it was almost dark. She Trick or Treated at Grandma's house. Thankfully Grandma got her healthy treats! Apples, Applesause, Pretzels, Fruit Snacks, etc..It was all of Emery's very favorite snacks! She was soooo happy. Until Daddy put her down...It takes a while for this girl to wake up. She does not like being put down for about 5-10 minutes after waking up!
Then she went inside and dug in. She loves apples. So that was the first thing she reached for.
The rest of the night was spent running around, eating dinner, Emery playing Guitar Hero and dancing and singing for all of Shayli's friends, the rest of us watching a movie, my dad taking Shayli and her friends to the cemetery because the "really wanted to get scared", Matt and Jake telling them a scary story and then going to the cemetery to scare them.
They really got scared.
All in all it was fun. I love this time of year, and I am really excited for Thanksgiving, Black Friday (practically a holiday in this family), and Christmas! yay!
Hope you had a Happy Halloween!
