May started out rough for us...
We had a healthy winter, occasional coughs, some runny noses, but nothing big at all. But ever since it started getting warm back in March it's like we cannot stay healthy! Luckily we have been for a little while now...So I'm hoping that we have kicked it for the season! This time around it was a nasty stomach bug. First I got it, then Jake. It wierdest thing about it is we would be really sick one day, fine the next, then really sick again the next day. So you would never know if you all the way over it or not. It was terrible. Thankfully it just bounced back and forth between Jake and I for about a week. Emery never really got it. She was sick for about 2 hours one day, aside from that no problems. Thank goodness. But anyway...Lucky us our Anniversary and Mother's Day (obviously) fall in the beginning of May. And Jake was very sick on both of those days. So we celebrated very low key this year!

One plus of him being sick was he was too sick to go into work so we got to spend the whole day with him! Emery loved having him around all day to cuddle and watch movies with. It was really nice to have him home. Later that evening my mom came and picked up Emery so we could have a little time together. I ordered take out for me, and Jake tried to eat a little chicken noodle soup while we watched a movie together. Romantic right?! Nothing says I love you like taking care of each other while your sick!
Early that morning when Jake got up to get ready for work, before he realized how sick he really felt, he put up little notes for me all over the house. It was during this that I woke up to him running to the bathroom...and that was the end of it, haha. That's about how the rest of the day went! Poor guy. I loved his little love notes though ;) I stilll have a few of them up! The ones that Emery couldn't reach to tear down...

All in all it was a good day to just be able to spend time together. And ultimately it doesn't matter how we spend our anniversary. The important this is that we remember the promises that we made to each other that day. Promises that I am grateful for and thank my Heavenly Father for daily. Words can't describe how grateful I am for this man in my life. He is the most kind, caring, hardworking, loving, man I know, and I am so lucky that I get to call him mine. Emery, our new little girl, and all future children are so blessed to get to call him daddy, and man alive, is he good at that job. Emery thinks the world of him, and she is wrapped around his finger. I can't believe that it has been 3 years already, and while those years have been anything but easy, they have the best years of my life! While their have been many hardships, there is not anyone that I would rather go through them with. Happy Anniversary love, I love you more and more every day ;)

Next up was Mother's Day. And like I said before Jake was really sick this day too. It was such a wierd illness, he felt great Friday and Saturday so we thought he was over it, but then Sunday morning he woke up terribly sick again. But being the sweetheart he is he went about the morning like nothing was wrong. It wasn't until after he had gotten up with Emery letting me "sleep" in (as much as a pregnant can...mostly I just laid in bed, but still it was nice), got Emery breakfast, and made me breakfast in bed, that I found out that he was even sick. Poor guy. We went to church for sacrament at least, but left after that since he was feeling so crummy. That evening we had dinner at my parents. Jake, Colton, Haley, and Shayli planned a yummy dinner for my mom and I. Haley made some super yummy Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Jake and Shayli headed up dessert with a "Better than you know what" Cake. Overall once again it was a great day. Even though Jake felt so crummy :(

One mistake that we did make is try to take some Mother's Day pictures 30 minutes after Emery should have been down for a nap...Yeah that's about how they turned out. Haha. Oh well. With some tickling I did get a smile out of her.
And a kiss...although she did give me a nice frown before giving it ;) haha. I love that girl.
I am beyond grateful for this little girl in my life. For as long as I can remember all I've ever wanted is to be a mom, and boy I never even knew how amazing it would be. But this little sweetie has given me a glimpse into that and I couldn't be more grateful. I can't imagine our lives without her and she has brought so much sunshine and love into our lives. I am so thrilled to be welcoming another little angel into our lives in just a few short weeks. I know we are going to be blessed with even more love in our lives and I just can't wait. I am so grateful to be a mother. It's the best job ever and I couldn't imagine having another. And it wouldn't be right to not acknowledge Jake as well because without him I couldn't do what I do, and I am so grateful for him.
Wow I am one blessed girl.
