Memorial Day Camping Trip 2013

Every Memorial Day we head out to the West Dessert to go camping, hiking, 4-wheeling, and relaxing. We have been soooo ready for a vacation and so excited to go camping again. This may be our only camping trip this summer with the baby. My due date is on the day that we usually go on another one of our trips, and now with my due date so close we aren't really heading up into any mountains right now. So we don't know when our next trip will be! So we were really excited for this one!

Last year Emery was a baby for all of our trips, so we were really excited to take her on this one where she could actually run around, play, and enjoy it. We stopped and got her some 4-wheeling sunglasses and a new bucket to dig in the dirt (one of the very favorite things to do). She was pretty excited about it.

Jake took the whole day off work (YES!) so we were the first one to our spot. Which ended up being good because right after we got there a few people tried to take it. We decided to just play for a little bit before setting up our camp. Bubbles, digging, kite flying, you name it.

Then Jake decided to get the tent set up.

Emery was a big help ;)

Jake spotted a lizard and decided to try to catch it.

Emery LOVED it. She was so excited about it. This girl loves bugs and creepy crawling things. So did not get that from me. yuck.

Everyone else got there a couple hours later, got camp all set up, ate dinner, and sat around the fire. The next morning Emery was thrilled as could be to just be able to be outside all the time, and get as dirty as possible. Also to be able to wear her boots that she is obsessed with....

After breakfast Jake and I took her for her first 4-wheeler ride of the trip.

Needless to say throughout the course of the weekend she went on LOTS of trips...she instantly figured out that to ride she had to have her helmet on. So she would take her helmet and beg anyone to put it on her and take her for a ride. She is very spoiled ;)

Giving her cousin Lexi kisses. They are only 2 months apart.

They had lots of fun playing together.

Ready for the prayer. These kids were ready to eat!

It was such a fun weekend. It's so nice to just be outside in the fresh air and sunshine. I wish we could've stayed another week. But alas we had to come back to real life...oh well. Hopefully we'll be able to make time for another trip in this very crazy summer we have ahead of us!

Colton and Haley's Reception

I'm pretty slow getting this post up...I was waiting for some pictures from other camera's but it ended up not working out so I decided to just post it! But here are the pictures from Colton and Haley's beautiful wedding. The reception was at the same place that Jake and I did ours, the Rock Church here in Morgan. They were originally going to have it at Snowbasin Ski Resort, then that didn't work out, and then another place in Layton, and that didn't work out, so they decided to just do it here. But it ended up working perfectly and looked gorgeous!

The Festivities:

Emery thought this dancing stuff was pretty awesome. She just bounced from person to person. Whoever would hold her and dance with her was her best friend.

After we got home that night she put on my heels and was walking around in them. She LOVES to walk around in our shoes.

It was such a fun night! Thanks for getting married you two so we could celebrate with you and eat yummy food! ;) We love you!

3rd Anniversary and Mother's Day

May started out rough for us...
We had a healthy winter, occasional coughs, some runny noses, but nothing big at all. But ever since it started getting warm back in March it's like we cannot stay healthy! Luckily we have been for a little while now...So I'm hoping that we have kicked it for the season! This time around it was a nasty stomach bug. First I got it, then Jake. It wierdest thing about it is we would be really sick one day, fine the next, then really sick again the next day. So you would never know if you all the way over it or not. It was terrible. Thankfully it just bounced back and forth between Jake and I for about a week. Emery never really got it. She was sick for about 2 hours one day, aside from that no problems. Thank goodness. But anyway...Lucky us our Anniversary and Mother's Day (obviously) fall in the beginning of May. And Jake was very sick on both of those days. So we celebrated very low key this year!

One plus of him being sick was he was too sick to go into work so we got to spend the whole day with him! Emery loved having him around all day to cuddle and watch movies with. It was really nice to have him home. Later that evening my mom came and picked up Emery so we could have a little time together. I ordered take out for me, and Jake tried to eat a little chicken noodle soup while we watched a movie together. Romantic right?! Nothing says I love you like taking care of each other while your sick!

Early that morning when Jake got up to get ready for work, before he realized how sick he really felt, he put up little notes for me all over the house. It was during this that I woke up to him running to the bathroom...and that was the end of it, haha. That's about how the rest of the day went! Poor guy. I loved his little love notes though ;) I stilll have a few of them up! The ones that Emery couldn't reach to tear down...

All in all it was a good day to just be able to spend time together. And ultimately it doesn't matter how we spend our anniversary. The important this is that we remember the promises that we made to each other that day. Promises that I am grateful for and thank my Heavenly Father for daily. Words can't describe how grateful I am for this man in my life. He is the most kind, caring, hardworking, loving, man I know, and I am so lucky that I get to call him mine. Emery, our new little girl, and all future children are so blessed to get to call him daddy, and man alive, is he good at that job. Emery thinks the world of him, and she is wrapped around his finger. I can't believe that it has been 3 years already, and while those years have been anything but easy, they have the best years of my life! While their have been many hardships, there is not anyone that I would rather go through them with. Happy Anniversary love, I love you more and more every day ;)

Next up was Mother's Day. And like I said before Jake was really sick this day too. It was such a wierd illness, he felt great Friday and Saturday so we thought he was over it, but then Sunday morning he woke up terribly sick again. But being the sweetheart he is he went about the morning like nothing was wrong. It wasn't until after he had gotten up with Emery letting me "sleep" in (as much as a pregnant can...mostly I just laid in bed, but still it was nice), got Emery breakfast, and made me breakfast in bed, that I found out that he was even sick. Poor guy. We went to church for sacrament at least, but left after that since he was feeling so crummy. That evening we had dinner at my parents. Jake, Colton, Haley, and Shayli planned a yummy dinner for my mom and I. Haley made some super yummy Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Jake and Shayli headed up dessert with a "Better than you know what" Cake. Overall once again it was a great day. Even though Jake felt so crummy :(

One mistake that we did make is try to take some Mother's Day pictures 30 minutes after Emery should have been down for a nap...Yeah that's about how they turned out. Haha. Oh well. With some tickling I did get a smile out of her.

And a kiss...although she did give me a nice frown before giving it ;) haha. I love that girl.
I am beyond grateful for this little girl in my life. For as long as I can remember all I've ever wanted is to be a mom, and boy I never even knew how amazing it would be. But this little sweetie has given me a glimpse into that and I couldn't be more grateful. I can't imagine our lives without her and she has brought so much sunshine and love into our lives. I am so thrilled to be welcoming another little angel into our lives in just a few short weeks. I know we are going to be blessed with even more love in our lives and I just can't wait. I am so grateful to be a mother. It's the best job ever and I couldn't imagine having another. And it wouldn't be right to not acknowledge Jake as well because without him I couldn't do what I do, and I am so grateful for him.
Wow I am one blessed girl.

Killing me with Cuteness

Sometimes I think I could eat her. Just too cute.
