The Drive In Movie

One of our very favorite summer activities is going to the Drive In Movie. And Jake had really been wanting to go lately. Knowing that our days to be able to go were numbered we decided to go ahead and do it last weekend. We went to The Internship and Star Trek 2. Emery just has fun playing in the dirt and throwing rocks. She fell asleep in the middle of the first movie, thank goodness, and just slept in the back of our car for the rest of the night. This is will more than likely be our only Drive In Movie this year, but next year we'll definitely be back!

Meet Boots

Grandma's kitty had kittens. And to say Emery loved them would be an understatement. So with the ok from Dad Grandma set her home with one. And oh boy does she love him.
He gets lots and lots of loving ;) Whether he wants it or not.

Happy Father's Day...

...to all the wonderful Dads out there.

But most especially to this guy. Coming from a family of all boys, it would not be an understatement to say that he was quite nervous to be having a little girl as our first kid, and then to find out we would be having another! But it didn't take a full minute of Emery being with us for her to have him completely wrapped around her tiny finger. No one can bring out those adorable belly laughs like Dad can. He makes a point to always be involved and present in her life. As she continues to get older I know he will continue that and to be supportive of her. Even if that means glitter and dance competitions ;) Just like my dad did when it was me, he will do with a smile. Making her feel like the most important girl in the world. And I'd like to publicly thank him for being the wonderful dad that he is. It brings to mind a quote I've seen somewhere, “I didn't realize how much I loved you, until I saw how much you loved our children.” There is truly nothing more touching that seeing the man you love rocking your newborn to sleep singing primary songs, or chasing your toddler around the house as she laughs so hard she can hardly keep going. Those are the moments I love. And I can't wait to keep 'em coming.
Happy Father's Day Love ;)

Our Sunny Weekend

This beautiful weather we are having has been amazing! We are loving soaking it all up. Most days it involves taking Emery to the park and pushing her on the "Weee" (swings) for hours...she would live in those swings if we'd let her. She doesn't want to do anything else at the park. Just swing. But this weekend we started off the sunshine by getting the cars washed. I shouldn't say "we" because Jake did it all. Emery "helped" I guess too. I did not though ;) haha. I got Emery in her swimsuit and just gave her the hose to play with. She was happy as could be.

After Jake finished the cars we headed to the splash pad to see how Emery would like it this year. We her took her last year but she was really little still, so we wondered how she would like it. She LOVES swimming and water, but she's not a fan of being sprayed in the face, which is basically what a splash pad does. So I wasn't sure she would like it much. She didn't. She would play with that same purple ball thing she played with last year, but outside of that she wasn't too much of a fan. If Jake would hold her hand and go with her she would venture out a little more, but not much. After a few minutes she just took off the the swings. So Jake just pushed her in those for a while!

After lunch and a good nap we headed up to Brigham City for Kate's 1st Birthday Party! Yay! She is getting so big. Time just flies. Emery loves to give her hugs and kisses, and of course kept calling her the "baby". Every little kid is a baby to her. She loves babies.

Lounging out in Reese's bouncer. I never thought about setting up our bouncer for her to use as a recliner. haha! I have a feeling once we get ours set up again for the new baby that she is going to take it a lot...

Chance made Kate's cake. He did a good job too!

Happy Birthday "baby" Kate! We sure love you!
