Christmas and New Years Eve 2019

One of my favorite things to do on Christmas Eve is to go sledding. Shayli and Jaden were reading my mind when they invited us, and we had a blast!

After heading home to get warm and send Lainee to a quick nap, we headed back to grandma and grandpa's for our Christmas Eve party!

Lainee and Evie in their Christmas Eve jammies from grandma.

Christmas morning was MAGIC. When they walked in their eyes LIT up. It was fantastic. I am so excited to use these kayaks this summer.
Macie loves to help my make dinner every night so we are super excited about these kids knives. We've already used them a couple of times and they have been fantastic. We love them. Lainee basically just was so excited to have her own "lips" and put it on basically non stop.

After we finished doing presents at our house, we headed up to my mom's annual Christmas Brunch. It's the best breakfast of the year....I've been bringing Cinnamon Rolls also the past few years, and mmmm. I could eat that brunch all day. After that we opened our presents up there. And I took a whole lot of video's, and only one picture...haha. My dad always get's Jake the best presents, and this year was no exception. Luckily my mom told me about 2 weeks before Christmas what they got him, because it took a whole lot of convincing to keep Jake from ordering one of these before Christmas.

The day after Christmas we headed to Manti to Grandma Mattie's for our Kilmer Christmas celebrating. They have great sledding hills there, so of course we had to hit the snow.

Grandma made all of the great grandkids hats, Lainee and Evie of course got matching ones.

New Years Eve we decided to stay home and have a little party at our house. We ate pizza, played games, and the kids watched a movie while the grown ups played a game. Then we watched the ball drop at 10:00 on the east coast and were in bed by 11:30, haha!

The kids thought the sparkling apple cider was the best part of the night! Especially Lainee, it killed her to wait until the ball dropped. She kept asking "I drink it now? I drink it now?" She was a fan.

It was an awesome week, we always love the 2 weeks Jake is home from work with us. It was rough getting back into the routine of school....but we're there and going, and looking very much forward to Spring Break!

December 2019

Oh...hi...remember this blog? I have neglected it for so long! I HAVE to get back into it. I have to document this stuff and this is honestly the best way. There is no way I can go back and recap since I started trailing off. But I am determined to get back into this in 2020! So I'll start with a recap of December, then head into the New Year!

We kicked off December with our traditional "December 1st boxes" where I give the kids a new Christmas book and their new Christmas Jammies!

For school they sent home a gingerbread person with every kid to decorate. Then they took them back to school to decorate the school with. I love how good these girls did with theirs! They are their individual personalities exactly!

Morgan's Hometown Christmas! Sat on Santa's lap, drank hot cider, rode in the train, and ate giant Corn Dogs.

Sitting on Santa's lap again at the ward Christmas Party.

Took our annual trip to Temple Square to see the lights in the nick of time before Christmas. It had been FREEZING all week. Like highs of 20s freezing...so we got seriously bundled...turns out it actually wasn't bad and basically everyone had shedded their warm stuff by the end...haha. These kids are so strangers to the cold.

On the way back to the car we discovered that they had added a Crumbl to the Deseret Book. So of course grandma stopped and get us some. The best cookies ever!

We haven't done this tradition before, but it was a new one I wanted to start this year. Sleeping under the tree on Christmas Eve Eve!

And that's a wrap! We honestly didn't get out as much as we usually do in December. I was still just so sick and did not have the energy to do much above and beyond!  We did have a couple more family Christmas parties that I didn't take a single picture at.....But Christmas week I actually started feeling better and we partied hard. I'll do a whole post on Christmas soon!

Easter 2019

Easter this year started off on Friday when we decorated SIXTY Easter Eggs! It went fast...haha. It doesn't take long!

Saturday we went up to East Canyon and cooked hot dogs, blew bubbles, and played on the beach while we waited for the Easter Egg hunt.

Emery was the only one brave enough to take a picture with the Easter bunny, haha

Lainee thought about it, but changed her mind at he last minute, haha!

Lainee was a natural at egg hunting. The second they said go, she got busy!

Easter Sunday the girls got their matching dresses, and Harley his matching tie.

That afternoon we headed to grandma and grandpas for Easter dinner with the whole family and grandma's egg hunt.

It was pouring rain so we ended up having to do the hunt inside this year! The kids didn't mind one bit. Especially since they are still finding treats and toys every time they go up there. haha!

The highlight of Lainee's day...finding her "mellow" the softest, cuddliest pillow in the world that quite literally instantly solved all of Lainee's sleep problems she had when we got back from our cruise. Bless this pillow! Weeks later and we haven't had a single problem since she started going to sleep with this weird thing!! haha!

Her #1 favorite thing to do, color. She had to break into her new coloring book and crayons as soon she saw them.

It was a great weekend with family. We also had a great day at church Sunday morning also. It's always so nice to start the day off remembering our Savior and his sacrifice for us. Because of Him, we get to be together forever.
