For
Labor Day weekend this year we decided to stick around home. It was nice. Hung
out, did some shopping, yard work, football games, the usual. But Monday my
little brother came home for the day so we took off early that morning to the
Uintahs for a hike and a picnic. We decided to go up to Spirit Lake and do some
canoeing and paddle boats, but when we got up there the lake was so low that
they had closed all of the rentals for the boats, so we scratched that plan.
We
set up for our picnic, grilled some hamburgers, and ate lunch. Then we decided
to go on a hike. We ended up doing one that we had done before back here. But it is a gorgeous one so we wanted to go up again to Tamarac Lake.
And boy is it beautiful. I love it there.

Emery played in the water with Shayli, others took naps, skipped rocks, shot guns, and just relaxed.
After a while we decided to head back to the picnic area and
hung out for a little longer and decided to come home. Then we finished up the
night with a yummy dinner at one of Jake and I’s favorites Texas Roadhouse.
Yum!
It was the perfect little break from life before hitting the
week for a few more days before heading to Jackson Hole! (more on that to come)
