Yard Work

Last weekend (like 2 weeks ago...) we decided we couldn't wait any longer to get our front yard put in. So we headed to Lowe's, got our bushes, and started on the yard. We only got half of it done, we need about 7 more bushes to finish, but at least it was a start!
Here is a before of the area where we put the bushes.

Emery and I also planted a little flower patch. We let Emery pick out the flowers and plant them. They are her little flowers to water and take care of. So far she hasn't killed them yet!

Jake dug up grass and got them planted. After 4 years on the grounds crew at BYU, he was totally in his element doing this. He walked around Lowe's picking out bushes like a pro. I'm pretty sure he knew more about those bushes than any of those people working there.

Finished product! It turned out really good. It will look better when they grow and fill in the space a little more. But I don't anticipate them looking exactly like we want until next spring. The green ones in the back are spring flowering bushes so next spring they will be filled with yellow flowers. It's going to be gorgeous! We still have the other half to do. We have 5 more crimson barberry to plant, 2 rose bushes, and a tree. It's going to look so good once we can get it done! Now if it would just stop raining and give us a chance to finish...I'll be sure to post a picture once it is completely done.
