Dear Emery,
Wow! I cannot believe that you have been here with our family for 6 months now! It feels like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, so tiny and sweet. But at the same time it feels like you've been here forever. Now you are crawling, climbing, and jabbering to me and Dad all the time! I remember when we would dance around the room, jumping up and down, hoping to get even the tiniest smile from you and now there isn't a time that we look at you that I don't get one of your adorable gummy grins. That grin has gotten me through some hard times :). And your belly laugh? Oh it makes my day more than anything! I am so grateful to be able to stay home with you everyday and watch you experience and discover everything as your little personality develops. You're going to be quite the little spit fire :) We can already tell. Even the doctor at you 6 month appointment last week said you are definitely going to keep us busy! But that's ok, we like it like that :) You are so smart it amazes me sometimes! The doctor told me last week that at 5 1/2 months (had to do your appointment a little bit early :)) you were already at the level of a 7 month old! He said to plan on you crawling in the next month and walking by 9 months! What?!? But that wasn't good enough for you, because we went home and the next day you got up from scooting around the room to those tiny knees and started to take a couple "steps" on them instead of your belly!

I love the way you "bob" your head and body up and down whenever there is music on as if to dance. Boy do you get the ladies in
Relief Society laughing during the hymns. And sometimes when there isn't even music you still like to bob your head in excitement. You've got rhythm like your mom. Maybe you'll be a dancer like her too. I love all of your energy! My goodness we can't figure out where it comes from, but you go ggo go all the time. Never stop moving, never stop wiggling! I have to laugh because frequently at church and other places people will ask to hold you, of course I say yes! Then after a few minutes they say, "Wow, she is really wiggly isn't she?" and after not being able to control you they give you back or put you back on the floor to keep crawlin' around! They expect this little baby to just cuddle right up and get comfy :) But that's probably why in the last 2 months you've only gained 1 pound! We've officially had to "baby proof" the house because you are into EVERYTHING!

You love to eat. So far you really like any fruits and butternut squash and sweet potatoes. It seems like your least favorite is green beans. You would eat them, but you kept gagging..So I stopped. Maybe we'll try again later. You're Daddy and I love green beans, so hopefully you do too. You will eat most anything though especially if it is something Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa are eating. You will lean and open your mouth or just try and steal it like you did my sucker the other day. I was holding it in my hand within your reach and turned around to talk to your Dad, next thing I know you are sucking away at it. Silly girl.

You love your baths and Mom finally got you some tub toys which makes you love it even more! The only problem is you can't decide which to play with so you try to gather them all up and hold them at the same time...but you're little arms are too small! I love that you love to play with mom all the time, although it would be nice to be able to get something done, I wouldn't trade the hours we spend looking at books and playing with toys singing nursery rhyme for the world! I love how excited you get to see Grandpa. You love playing with him! The only person that you get more excited to see if Daddy when he gets home from work! You are a Daddy's girl! But you have them both wrapped around your tiny finger. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Little girls need good Daddies, and you and me Em, we got the very best!

Your favorite toys right now are your purple hippo that Aunt Shayli gave you for Christmas and your "Zany Zoo" Grandma Kilmer got for Christmas. You grab onto the top and pulled yourself up so you are standing. It amazes us how strong you are. You also love your GlowWorm your cousin Braxton got you for Christmas, you light up with big smiles every time it starts to sing! But you pretty much love anything else that you shouldn't be playing with, like dad's computer, Grandpa's I-pad, the cords to anything you can find, etc...Like I said we're baby proofing everything!

Mom and Dad are training for a big 20 mile race this summer so you've been going on lots of rides in your new fancy stroller we got you to come with us! You mostly just love that you get to be outside when you're in it. You love the outdoors! You also love to play with Grandma and Grandpa's dog, cat, and horse. You just crawl right up to the them and pet them (grab their fur and pull, like you do Mom's hair). Luckily they are very patient and let you!
You have also learn to reach for things that you want. Especially people. When you are playing with your toys and want me to hold you you will crawl to me and start climbing up my leg. Or if I look at you you'll put your arms up wanting me. The best is when Dad comes home from work. We are usually outside playing so as soon as he gets out of the car you get big smiles, get really excited and start bouncing up and down, and then you will lean and lean towards him until he picks you up! It pretty much makes his day :)
You are also back to sleeping through the night again! (like you were before I got put in the hospital) It is wonderful! It wasn't took bad before because you only got up once around 4 in the morning, and you'd go to bed around 7:30. So it was pretty good. Daylight savings messed your schedule up a little but it's a good one. You usually go to bed around 8 and get up around 8! It's perfect, let me get a few things done before you are up and going!
You are our little ray of sunshine and I hope you know how much we love and adore you! You find a way to make our day every day! Keep growing strong and healthy baby girl! We love you!
Love,
Mom and Dad
