Kids say the darndest things...

As Jake left for work one morning he gave me a kiss.
Emery says, "ooooo great kissing"

I told Emery to go get dressed so we could go to Grandma's house. And get dressed she did. Navy blue sweat pants, a pink shirt, a purple tutu on over her pants, and snow boots....

Me: Wow Emery....
Emery: I so pretty mom.
It's a good thing we were just going to grandma's house...

Macie: Screams (REALLY loud)
Emery: SHHHH!!!
Macie: Screams again
Emery: SHHHH!!!
Macie: Screams AGAIN
Emery: OH MY GOSH!!! BE QUIET!
It's a good thing I was listening from the other room because I couldn't stop laughing. And so the sibling arguments begin.

When you tell Emery "No way Jose" she replies... "Yes way So-Hey" haha. She gets the Jose backwards.

While playing in the tub, "I'm a fishy, swimming in the deep blue sea"

Emery built a tower with her legos, "Mom, a skyscraper!"

The other day while getting dressed...
Me: Emery which panties do you want?
Emery: (puts her pointer finger on her cheek) "hmmmm....let's think" (taps her cheek) "think, think, think" (points her finger straight in the air) "I know!!!"

Favorite words:
'swimming soup'-Swimming suit
'chen-ga-roo'-Kangaroo
'U-licious'-Delicious
'eye-preen'-Ice Cream
"O-bleh"-oatmeal
'mission berries'-Missionaries

I know as I remember words that she says or she says something knew I will come back and add to this list, but for now that is all I can think of off the top of my head! I just love every day the new things that she learns and comes up with, Jake and I laugh so hard as the things she says and does. I have no idea where she comes up with most of it. But it is so funny! We sure love that girl so much!

St. Paddy's

Confession: I completely forgot today was St. Patrick's day. I mean, I knew it was coming, and I even thought about it yesterday. But today, I totally forgot. It was about 10 before I even remembered. So I went back to see if Emery had a green shirt at least that I could change her into, turns out I apparently don't buy much green because she had nothing. So we decided her Clover necklace that we made last week would suffice as her green today. The nice thing about 2 years olds? They have no idea.

I decided we needed to do SOMETHING for St. Patricks, and since it was cold, very windy, and snowing outside it was a perfect day to do some painting. Which just so happens to be Emery's very favorite thing to do.

Macie enjoyed some Cheerios and bread while we painted ;) Turns out she doesn't have any green either....

Emery is pretty proud of her creations, and I like them too! Turned out cute!
That was about the extent of our St. Patrick's Day celebrations! Lucky for us though I was planning on having asparagus with dinner tonight anyway, so we will have a partly green dinner. I decided to throw an Asphalt Pie together last minute too, so that'll be our green dessert.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Macie 8 months

17 pounds 8 ounces

I have no idea how this happens so fast every month. I feel like I barely get one month update done before it's time for another! This sweet little girl turned 8 months on Saturday. I would say I can't believe it, but I say that every month...but really. I can't. She is the absolute sweetest little thing in the world! No one can smile like this sweetie can. She is pretty much always this happy too is the great part. She rarely cries, unless she is really hungry. She just content to playing, smiling, and being happy. She is so laid back, so opposite from Emery who is bouncing off the walls from dawn til dusk.

Macie is crawling faster and faster every day. I can barely keep up with her.. She will be in the living room one second, I turn around and she is climbing up the stools in the kitchen. She is quick.
She learned to say her first word this month, which is always so sweet. It was of course, "da-da" And now she says it all. the time. She loves her dada!
She stands up every chance she gets. She is always standing at the couches and holding on and walking around the room, climbing up toys, and most recently taking some steps behind her walker.
She is still in a few 3-6 month clothes, but can wear most all of her 6-9 month clothes. Size 3 diapers, mostly to keep her from blowing out every. single. time. she poops.

She got her first tooth! It's barely poked through, but it's there and it's sharp!
She really likes food. I've yet to find anything that she doesn't like. She will eat everything we give her.
She loves to play with Emery. They have so much fun chasing and teasing each other, it's the sweetest.
She loves being tickled. She likes to just hold still and let you tickle her legs, back, and belly.

The Weekend

This weekend was BEAUTIFUL! We are seriously in awe over this extra early spring Utah is having. Luckily we have still been having a lot of rain, but plenty of nice and warm days in between make it the perfect spring! Saturday was extra nice, so after getting some chores done early in the morning we hooked up the bike trailer and it took for the first time this year. It was Macie's first time being in it, and she really loved it. Emery has always loved it. We packed some lunches and went to the park for a picnic and some playing.

Macie has been to the park quite a few times, but this was her first time actually participating. She absolutely loved the swings, just like her sister. If both of them had their way, we would just go to the park for 2 hours and push them on the swings the whole time...

After we got them off the swings we introduced Macie to the slide. She went down with mom, dad, and Emery quite a few times. Then she even got to go by herself!

After a few hours at the park we packed up and headed home to get in the car and see Shayli leave for Prom. The girls got some pictures with Aunt Shay.

And Emery played a little peek-a-boo....
Where's Emery?

Peek-a-boo!

My mom always ends up putting Shayli's Boutonniere on her dates because Shayli never can. But this time she told her she wouldn't do it. So Jake being the nice guy he is, let her practice on him. When she still couldn't get it he took her over and taught her on a pillow. And sure enough, it worked, it took a little longer than most, but she got it on her date!

The theme was French Masquerade so they were all supposed to wear masks.

We told Shayli her dress wasn't going to fit into his car, but he got her in!

After that we took the girls home and they took a quick nap. Then we headed to promenade.

This was the inside of the bus that the boys got to take the girls to dinner and then to the dance in. We were all laughing pretty hard, well except for the dads...none of them were laughing. But the bus driver insisted that the pole was only for holding up the ceiling...that's all...

After Shayli left we all headed to Ogden and went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was a perfect weekend having Jake home and being able to be outside! We love nice weather and weekends!
