{A Shower}

Tonight I threw a bridal shower for one of my very bestest friends Jessica!!! We just had a "dessert shower". It was so much fun to get ready for! Although it took forever....! About 12 hours of baking and cooking! It was worth it though, really fun!

The Favors

For the chocolate fountain

I made so many desserts. Jake kept telling me to stop that we would have so much left over (which we did) but I made everyone take a plate of food home with them as well!
Menu:
Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Chocolate Lover's Bundt
Raspberry White Chocolate Cupcakes with White Chocolate Frosting
Raspberry Mousse filled Chocolate Cups
Turtles
Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle
Peanut Butter Cheescake Pops dipped in Chocolate
Strawberry Delight Torte
Chocolate Fountain

Congrats Jess!!! Jake and I are so excited for you & Josh! I love you!

Dad's Birthday

For conference weekend we headed to Manti. And also to celebrate my dad's birthday. Todd and Miriam, Chris and Karen, My mom and dad, and all my cousins came down, we had a lot of fun. I made a French Vanilla Cake with Blackberry Peach filling, and Blackberry Frosting. It was very yummy.

I had extra batter after making the cake so I made one little cupcake for Amber. She loved having her own!

The NEW lds.org

In my last post I mentioned the new lds.org I have been messing around with it the last few days, and I love it! You have to go there and use it! First sign up for an account, all you need is your membership number (on your temple recommend) and you can get an account. Now with an account you can do all kinds of this, just by your membership number it will pull all of your information, what ward your in, etc...it had your ward/stake calender, ward directory, stake and ward boundaries, etc....BUT my very favorite part is the Study Journal. You have your own online study journal! What it is is when you get on and are reading conference talks, preparing a talk for church (like I was on Saturday...a whole other story...), anything. But is what you can do is highlight quotes and things that you like from talks and it automatically transfers them into your journal, you can add your own  notes, all kinds of stuff. Pretty neat. I really loved it.
Oh and about the preparing the talk on Saturday night for my 9am church... I am not a procrastinator! Ok maybe I am, but not that bad or that often....Jake and I didn't get the call to talk until then! We had 2 weddings on Saturday too, we got the call about 2:00 Saturday afternoon and couldn't start until we got home from our two weddings...but all went well.
Anyway this is a sort of rambling post, but I really want you all to check out the New LDS.org!

Continue in Patience

Patience is one of the virtues I struggle with the most. This fast paced instant gratification world that we live in has made me live my life in that same way. I hurry from one this to the next. Sometimes I even find my self tuning out of conversations if they take to long, I feel like I have some place better to be and different things to be doing. Patience is something I really need to work on, and I mean really, not just say I will and never get around to it like I have so many times before. When I saw that this was today's movie on lds.org I knew I needed to watch it. And I loved it. By the way if you haven't checked out the new lds.org you should! It's pretty neat!
