Emery at 14 months

I don't know when my baby when and turned into a toddler, but she did. We are loving this age so much.

A few things I'd like to document to help me remember Emery at this age:

She is really into copying everything we do lately. It is really funny when she does something and we bust up laughing and have no idea where she picked it up. Only to have one of us do it a few days later.
Her favorite words are "no" and "Hi!". She says hi to anyone and everyone she sees. Last weekend we were at a car dealership and while all the salesmen were in this office getting our stuff together she just marched right in there and says "Hi!". She is a crack up. Some of her other favorites, are ooohhhh, wow, yay, num, teee (which we think is thanks..still trying to figure it out), and dada.
She is getting quite the little attitude. The other day while she was eating she kept throwing her food off the edge and he told her to stop. She just froze and closed her eyes and just sat there. And then slowly opened them. Like she was trying to gain her composure. haha. We couldn't hold back and just cracked up. It was seriously the funniest thing.
She is really good at ignoring. She knows when she is doing something that she shouldn't be and ignores you if you tell her to stop. These episodes usually end up in a Time Out. She isn't a fan, but I'm not sure what else to do.
She likes turning on and off lights. When we walk out of a room I hold her up and she loves to turn the the light switch off.
She is still a never ending ball of energy. She doesn't stop she doesn't slow down. Some nights she will be so tired that she knows if she were to sit down she would instantly fall asleep so she doesn't. She will literally run in circles until we put her in her crib. And even then she fights it. I am really glad she is the first child because I really don't think by the end I'll have enough energy to handle and kid like her. So I'm glad it's now!
She loves to dance. Every time music comes on she instantly starts to dance. She has so many funny moves, we laugh so hard at her.
She can now tell me what a puppy says! If I ask her she says "ruff ruff". She also knows where her belly is. And also where her belly button is. If you ask her where her belly is she will just point to it, but if you ask her where her belly button is she has to lift up her shirt and put her finger right in her belly button.
Throws full blown tantrums. Like a true toddler. It's great. Not.
She has become such a picky eater the past few months. It used to be that she would literally eat anything. Now not so much. Her favorites are fruit (she will eat ANY fruit, ANY time, which I am glad for) her favorites are blueberries, raspberries, pomegranate, apples, and clementines, yogurt, cheese (mostly grilled cheese sandwiches), eggs, waffles, Nutrigrain bars, Belvita crackers (both in blueberry or apple cinnamon flavor), pretzels, and pasta. She basically lives off those things. We give her loads of other options but they get dumped on the floor. She will instantly let you know whether or not she likes a food. She'll take one bite and either say no, shake her head and furrow her eyebrows, or shake her head yes and say "num!"
LOVES to give kisses. She gives me countless kisses every day. It is the best. She will give them to anyone, the other day we were at a restaurant and she kept trying to give kisses to the lady taking our order, haha. It was funny.
Points at EVERYTHING. She is always pointing at things and either saying "ooohhh" or "wow!". It is so fun to watch her discover the world. The smallest details that we normally don't even notice are so exciting to her.
LOVES to walk on Grandma's treadmill. Whenever we are at my mom's house if the door is open to wear the treadmill is she runs in there and gets on it. She will wait there until someone comes in and turns it on for her. She will walk and walk and walk.
Likes to hold your finger and walk places. If you stick a finger out for her she will walk where ever you want. Until she gets distracted :)
Has the sweetest little personality and most tender little heart. She hates getting in trouble and if you raise your voice at her at all she bursts into tears. It's so sad. She is a tender little girl.
We love this little sweetie so much! She is always teaching us how to be better.
Love this little girl!

Showing where her belly is :)

One of her dance moves.

Her silly face.

Caught in the act...

2 seconds. That's all it took. I wrapped the presents and snuck them under the tree. I made sure she didn't see me put them under. I walked out of the room, and hear rip. Walk back into this. It didn't take long! I, of course, I grabbed my camera got a quick shot and started picking up the presents so she wouldn't do any more destruction and she starts to grab up the ones I haven't picked up yet and tries to get away.
This girl is such a little stinker.
But we sure think she's a cute stinker!
(Even with bed head :))

Christmas Tree 2012

For Family Home Evening last Monday we set up our tree! We have always done real trees, and frankly I prefer real trees, but knowing that Emery would constantly be "getting into" this tree we decided that an artificial tree would be the best option this year. And I'm really glad that we did. She is constantly pulling on it, climbing underneath it, I would be much more worried if it was a huge, tall, heavy tree than this one! We kept the ornaments simple and didn't put on about half of them. I knew they would just be pulled off as fast as we could put them on. And I was right! We put an ornament on, Emery goes and takes it off. haha, oh well!

Notice there is only one ornament on the tree, and she is trying to get it off.

After much coaxing she finally put an ornament on. She was very proud of herself when she saw how happy we were!

Jake left up the stool after putting on the star, of course she sees it as an opportunity to take off ornaments that she normally wouldn't be able to reach!

Now she loves to climb under there and stare up the tree. She is now usually found under or behind the tree!

Ta-Da! It turned out pretty good. Notice the ornaments already on the ground in the back ground..yeah. Now there are zero ornaments from about the 3rd row of ribbon (from the bottom) and down. There are scattered around the tree. Once a day I put them back on, usually during a nap, and as soon as she up they are back off!

This has nothing to do with putting up our tree but it was funny. Jake put these stickers on his and her face. She thought it was so funny. I love how in the picture on the right she is concentrating so hard to keep it on. It kept falling off so she would try to put it back on. She is in such a copy-cat stage right now. We are loving it, she keeps us laughing!

Setting up Grandma's Tree

A few weeks ago Em helped Grandma set up her Christmas tree.

She was all kinds of help :)

She took out the ornaments and then put them back in, then took them out then back in...over and over.

She had a hard time parting with the ornaments when they had to get put on the tree. Haha. She got pretty mad at me.

Eventually we distracted her with Grandma's toy Nativity so we could finish the tree! She was content.
I just realized that I never took a picture of the tree after we finished! Oh well. I'm sure I'll get one on Christmas.
