Cherry Hill

With me being pregnant (aka huge and uncomfortable) half the summer and then Macie being born and all that that entails, we haven't had too much time (or motivation and energy) for planning many summer activites. It is kind of a bummer because I had lots of fun things that we wanted to do, but it just couldn't happen. But after we  had gotten into the swing of things with Macie, and she was getting a little older. We decided to needed to plan something fun for Emery.
So we decided we were going to go on a trip up to Bear Lake. But when we went to book a camping spot everything was full.
Unless you wanted to go on Tuesday and Wednesday that is.
So we had to rethink.
We decided to go to Cherry Hill! We were originally going to camp, but then I decided it was so close to our house, it wasn't really worth the hassle of camping with a newborn. So we ended up just doing a day trip.
And of course we invited some of our very favorite people, Chance, Anna, and Kate. We sure love them.
We also brought along Sara and Chaz's boys Marek and Ammon and let Sara get some unpacking done after just moving back to Utah that week.
We had so much fun! I haven't been to Cherry Hill since I was a teenager and no one else had ever been. They have so much fun stuff for kids up to adults. The water slides are a blast, and we went down a lot.
If it had been up to Marek and Ammon we would've gone down them all day long!
Emery had a blast and Macie slept through the whole thing. Which I was not upset about ;) It made it a super relaxing (as much as a pool with a toddler can be....) fun day!
Thanks Allen's for coming with us!

We came home, changed into jammies, and had a little pizza party.
Macie didn't get in on the pizza action, but she sure liked being out of her swim suit and in her jammies!
It didn't take long before she was sound asleep...we wore her right out.

Sunday morning was my best friend Emily's little boy Jarom's blessing.
They had a luncheon at their house. Emery was cracking Jake and I up at it. She was sitting at this table with all these boys (the cutie smiling at the camera is her boyfriend Drew ;))  She was being such a little mommy to them all. Drew kept getting up and walking around so she would go around and pat his chair and say "Dew! Eee!" (Translation: Drew, sit down and eat) So he would come sit down and maybe take one bite. Then as you can see in this picture that boy wouldn't eat his sandwich so Emery kept giving it to him and trying to get him to eat it. It was seriously so funny to watch her try to keep all these boys in line.
It starts early I guess ;)

Macie and Jarom
They are about 6 weeks apart.

That night we went to Sunday dinner at my mom and dad's like usual.
And then went on our usual Sunday walk.

There are lots of wildfires burning in Utah right now. And as sad as they are, the smoke makes for pretty sunsets!

I can't believe summer is coming to an end soon. And inspite of ours not being filled with exotic vacations, camping trips, and planned activites, we really have had a wonderful one. We have had lots of fun, and nothing can replace welcoming a new baby. But it was nice to get out and do some swimming and make some fun family memories.
