Grandma's Wa-Wa

This is Emery's very favorite place these days. Frequently throughout the day I get asked "ma-ma wa-wa" and while she says it she moves her arms around like she is swimming. Makes me laugh every time.
She even has her own special seat there in the corner to sit on. She also has a life jacket and an inner tube that she wears so she can swim around in the middle. (not at the same time...haha) We originally got the life jacket but I think it's annoying...it always floats up around her head. Then last week my mom bought one of those inner tube things for babies/toddlers. I didn't think she would sit in it, but Jake tried it out on Saturday night and she liked it! So it was a success. And I'm so glad.

A big rain storm hit right after they got in the other day. It was really pretty.

Sunshine and Otter Pops

I didn't do a 19 month post this month. For a few reasons...Emery is at the age now where not a whole lot really changes month to month. She learns a TON, and I swear she learns at least one new word a day I swear.
Her big thing right now is speaking in sentences. She is trying to make everything she says into sentences. Most frequently she says "It's a _____" She pretty much uses every word she knows in that blank. It's a ball, It's a bird, It's a baby, etc....For a few months she has used other sentences like "Where is it?". That's one of her favorites. She just loves to use sentences now. She is just getting so dang smart! Sometimes she most of the sentence doesn't even make sense and she'll just end it with a word we can understand. It always makes me laugh, but I have no idea what she is talking about sometimes. She has also become very possessive of  Jake lately. She always says "My Da-da".
Mostly we are just enjoying our last few weeks together before we are joined by our new baby girl! I am so excited for her to come, but I am really trying to soak up these last few weeks where it's just her and I. I can't believe that it is coming so fast, but we can hardly wait! We still have quite a bit to do. We have most of the nursery done. We have Emery's new bed, but we still need to get a mattress. I have her bedding picked out, but I still need to order it. We have her new dresser, but we still have a little bit of work before it's totally ready. We also still need to get a new glider and stroller...ahhh. Of course it's our two biggest purchases that still remain...I have both picked out, just need the money to get them ordered! It's nice that we really don't need anything else since we already got everything with Emery. We just need to get it out of storage and cleaned and set up! I need to get all of Emery's newborn clothes out and washed and get everything in that way ready. But mostly we are just excited to meet our newest little sweetie, until then, we are going to soak up every minute of our time with our current one.

Baby Animals

After taking Emery to the Baby Animals Exhibit last year at This is the Place last year, we knew we definitely had to do it again this year. But a few days before we were planning to go we got a flyer in the mail about one just right in Kaysville. Plus it was half the price of the Salt Lake one, so we decided to try it out! It made it nice to not have to drive all the way to Salt Lake. I don't know which one I liked better. I think this one is much more reasonably priced...I actually think if Emery were older I would have liked this one better, but a lot of the activities that they had Emery just didn't care to do. Next year I think she would like this one a lot better. But either way, all she really cares about is the animals and being able to see and pet them! So she didn't care one bit! I like that you get to get up closer to the animals at the other one, this one they are all in pens. But Emery didn't mind. She still walked right up and petted them all!

She thought these lamas were bears...haha. They kind of do look like a teddy bear. She just kept pointing at them and saying "bear".

I'm pretty sure Emery was lucky enough to inherit Jake's terrible allergies...argh...I feel so bad! A few weeks ago at my sister's track meet the wind started to blow and within minutes her eyes were swollen up, she was sneezing and rubbing her eyes terribly. The track is right next to the trees that always make Jake's allergies act up. Then again at this baby animals thing after a little while she started to get a little grumpy, and her eyes were swollen and red. She didn't sneeze or anything, but she was acting like she felt miserable. After we left within about 30 minutes she was completely fine again. I'm sure it's not animal allergies because she has been around TONS of animals all the time and never has a problem. It's got to the same thing that Jake has. My dad has bees so when the honey is ready I'm going to give her some of that, and I'm hoping that it helps her! Anyway, we got some yummy snow cones and that made her pretty happy!

Next up, baby chicks.

The picture on the right makes me sad. You can just see how miserable she feels...she was trying to be a good sport, but after a little while she just felt so terrible. We had pretty much seen everything anyway so we decided to leave. They had face painting we could have done, but there is not a chance she would have held still for that. They also had pony rides, I don't know how she would have done on that. But like I said, she was ready to go anyway, and the line was really long! I think she had fun anyway with what we did get to do though. I'm glad we took her! We are loving all of this sunshine! We especially love weekends when Dad is home!

Dandelion Bouquets

We took full advantage of the almost 90 degree weather today and went on a nice long walk. This 8 month pregnant lady was cooking by the end. But Emery was in heaven so it was all worth it. Her new thing right now is picking flowers. She loves to pick little dandelion bouquets and smell them. It's super sweet. We stopped about halfway through our walk for some play time on the playground, and then she headed back to the dandelions.

She had a whole bouquet to take to Grandma at work, but by the time we got back to the car they were gone...haha. So we bagged it. Maybe next time! She did get to stop and see Grandpa for a few minutes though so she was happy.
 Here's to summer and sunshine!!
