For me, June is the start of summer. So we kicked it off right with our first trip to the drive in of the summer. We only went once last year, and we are planning on remedying that this summer. Friday we saw X-men: Days of Future Past. It was really good actually. Emery even sat through most of it, she eventually got tired and asked to go sit in her carseat and seat. I was more than okay with that.
We are really loving all of this warm summer weather. Man I wish it was like this year round! We are just not winter people. While I do enjoy the occasional sledding or skiing trip, it's not enough to make me enjoy the 8 months of winter Utah usually brings us. Jake and I seriously consider moving to St. George every winter. But that thought quickly leaves us as we watch the 110+ degree days of the summer they have down there...
Anyway.
Even though in my 32 week pregnant glory bike riding has been eliminated as an option of exercise for me, Jake and the girls still love it. This bike trailer has been one of our very best purchases yet. So Saturday Jake loaded up the girls to take them on a ride to the park. They were super excited. That is until we put helmets on them and they both threw total fits...
I waited about 10 minutes and then drove down and met them at the park. Emery ran around the splash pad, Macie was crying and fussy, eventually Emery got that way too. Turns out them staying up all night at the drive in the night before made them extremely exhausted and grumpy. We did realize later that night that Macie has an ear infection, so we did discover there was more to the source of her grumpiness. Poor girl.
We are so so lucky to have some pretty awesome neighbors. Who have turned out to be some of the very best friends we could ask for. Emery and Boston and seriously to die for cute. We love hanging out with them. Boston is lucky enough to have a grandma with a swimming pool and today they invited us to go do a little summer swimming. We had so much fun. I realized later I never got a picture of Macie...it is hard to take pictures when you are in a pool...but she loved it. She swam around and kicked and laughed and played for a long time. Emery was kind of in and out. She'd play in the sand, jump on the tramp, swim, lounge by the pool, and repeat. We had a pretty awesome summer day and are really looking forward to lots more fun days this summer. We've got so many fun things to do!
